"The year has only just begun and there is already a hot candidate for song of the year: "Flussaufwärts" is the name of the song by the charming quartet Frau Lehmann from Leipzig. "I'm so afraid I'm a stranger to you" sings singer Fiona in it, only to then confront her fear with verve: "I want to float upstream next to you." Upstream? Yes! It can be exhausting, but you don't have to swim alone.
Frau Lehmann knows this too, which is why they have found a suitable partner in crime in the legendary Dirty Dishes, led by Jan Müller and Rasmus Engler. "Gewäsch" is the name of their joint split EP and combines the most beautiful and truthful elements of catchy guitar pop in the tradition of bands like Jetzt! and the Go-Betweens as well as Dada-influenced experimental pop in six songs. A mixture as strange as it is crazy good. And now please excuse me, I have to press the play button again!"
